COUPE DE NOEL
St. Barths Dec 12, 2010
With 16 eager swimmers (and coach / parents / siblings) the Carib Swim Team left the shores of St. Martin to arrive in St. Barths for the “Coupe de Noel” swimming competition along with the St. Barths Natation (hosting team) and Supersplash.
The Swim meet kicked off with 4 x 50 IM relay
Girls and boys then went on to individual races, 25 m - 100 m races and ended with the 4 x 50m freestyle relay.
A special acknowledgement goes to our young swimmers Jeroen and Sanders Valkenburg, (who did not bat an eye against the competition) Hrithik Alwani, Rashad Peterson, Abiola Dessout, Hubert Hensley, Charlie Slayter, the Freedman brothers (Matthias and Timé) and Minaëlle Green. They all gave their best and came home with medals.
Our more experienced swimmers; Valentin Walter, and the girls, Loanne Serramoglia, Naomi Mansana and Nadika Mathew also put up a great performance and outdid themselves.
The team did a Great job of showing their efforts in practice every day. They accrued 28 personal best times in just 41 swims. That means almost 70% of all swims were personal bests! That is Fantastic.
Carib Swim Team took home the second place trophy.
A special thanks to the parents who accompanied the children and cheered them on, and our substitute coach, Jenny Green.
The meet ended with a fine feast provided by St. Barths Natation and a fun swim in the pool with the waterslide!!
Bravo to the swimmers for their outstanding performance.

The 1st Siegfried Francisco Swimming Invitational
(Formally known as Netherlands Antilles Championships)
December 10-12, 2010

The 1st Siegfried Francisco Swimming Invitational (Formally known as NAZB Championships) has finished with GREAT results
for Carib Swim Team. This Swimming Competition attracted teams from Bonaire, Sint Maarten, and Curacao. Carib had 15 athletes travel to Curacao to participate in the meet, with 6 Girls and 9 boys making the trip. They swam in age categories ranging from 10 year old to 16 year old. They did a fabulous job of show casing their Training. The small but strong group accrued 28 gold medals, 18 silver medals and 12 bronze medals in individual events alone. This doesn’t include two 1st place girls relays, one 3rd place girls relay, along with a 2nd place, 3rd place and 4th place finishes in boys relays. With 4 swimmers on each relay that would have been another 8 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals. We also had one high point winner for her age group saying she was the fastest all around swimmer her age at the meet. The team swam 94 events with 84 of those events being personal bests. This means 89% of the time when a swimmer dove in the water they swam the fastest in that event that they ever had. In the process to winning gold medals and swimming personal bests 8 of the swimmers swam 24 times under the previous team record for a 50 meter pool. This led to 23 new team records, 2
